I am a BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) Provider. I find that BCBS does an excellent job of cooperating with my treatment approach, while maintaining your confidentiality. If you are a member of this insurance company, then usually your out-of-pocket cost is as small as $10-$30 per session, depending on your co-pay or co-insurance and policy. Please contact BCBS to obtain an explanation of your benefits, including the amount of your deductible. In addition, you should find out how many sessions are authorized and if you require preauthorization or precertification. Invest in yourself; Invest in your family!

Therapy is an investment into you! Research shows that therapy works. The insight and skills you gain will increase the value of your health and well being for life. All too often, however, too many families are more willing to spend income on items that bring temporary happiness, such as paying $5.00 for a grandé coffee. Many other items actually seem to make matters worse. Amongst these “things,” technology has seemed to cause more family conflict and unhappiness than almost any other luxury item. Of these things, the families I treat most often report constant fighting related to videogame, cell phone, and computer/internet misuse. These items, in turn, further complicate family life, leading to other problems.  

For non-BCBS insured clients, I am an out-of-network provider. The best benefit to choosing an out-of-network provider is that you—not the insurance company—picks your doctor. There are no artificial time limits to how long it takes for you to feel better. We go at your pace, because  insurance companies shouldn't be allowed to dictate your treatment plan!

Many insurance companies also require in-network providers to submit regular treatment plans before they authorize your session(s). Thus, there can be a lack of clarity and/or after-the-fact decisions about what will be covered, resulting in surprise bills. Finally, many insurance companies try to oversee the in-network therapist's work, dictating treatment planning, requesting your personal information, and potentially compromising your confidentiality. Going out-of-network means you have greater control!

I offer competitive rates for a psychologist in a private practice setting. My average out-of-network cost per 45-minute therapy session is $140, which may be largely reimbursed through your insurance company, depending on your policy. The process is simple!

As a bonus, my professional rates often include complimentary consultations, free referral services, liaison work, case management and other corollary care to provide you with the highest quality service available. I believe it is just part of your treatment plan!
